Jewels, Excellent and Ancient Items in MU Fighters

In MU Fighters (OpenMU Season 6 Episode 3), Jewels and Excellent items are the heart of your progression: you use jewels to upgrade and refine your gear, and Excellent sets and weapons carry the bonuses that make a real difference in PvM and PvP. This guide shows exactly which ones exist, which zones and bosses drop them, the real drop rates configured on the server, and the other ways to get each item (events, boxes and shops). Everything here comes from the server’s applied configuration; where something depends on the OpenMU core and isn’t pinned down in our config, it’s marked as per the server’s current configuration.
What Jewels are
Jewels are the classic MU gems, used to evolve and improve gear (the exact effect of each one — leveling up, adding an option, etc. — follows per the server’s current configuration). In MU Fighters they drop by zone: low-level maps drop basic jewels, and advanced maps drop the rarer ones.
The jewels with a configured drop on the server are:
| Jewel | Group/Number | Where it first appears |
|---|---|---|
| Jewel of Bless | (14, 13) | Noria, Lorencia |
| Jewel of Soul | (14, 14) | Lorencia, Dungeon |
| Jewel of Life | (14, 16) | Lost Tower onward |
| Jewel of Creation | (14, 22) | Atlans onward |
| Jewel of Guardian | (14, 31) | Icarus onward |
| Jewel of Harmony | (14, 42) | Swamp of Calmness, LaCleon |
Heads-up about Jewel of Chaos: in the Devias, Lost Tower, Atlans and Tarkan zones, the applied server configuration emits the pair (12, 15) — which is group 12 (wings), Number 15, and not the Jewel of Chaos (which would be group 14, Number 15). In practice, the Jewel of Chaos is not dropping in those four zones through the map droplist; it does appear correctly in the Event Points shop (see further below). Treat this as a config issue to fix.
Where Jewels drop (by zone)
Each zone has a monster level range and a per-kill chance (a value from 0 to 1; for example 0.02 = 2%). The table below is exactly what the server applies:
| Zone | Monster level range | Chance | Jewels dropped |
|---|---|---|---|
| Noria | 1–30 | 0.03 | Bless |
| Lorencia | 2–40 | 0.02 | Bless, Soul |
| Dungeon | 19–80 | 0.02 | Bless, Soul |
| Devias | 20–90 | 0.02 | Soul + (12,15)* |
| Lost Tower | 47–90 | 0.02 | Soul, Life + (12,15)* |
| Atlans | 43–74 | 0.02 | Soul, Creation + (12,15)* |
| Tarkan | 72–93 | 0.025 | Life, Creation + (12,15)* |
| Icarus | 75–108 | 0.025 | Life, Creation, Guardian |
| Aida | 72–120 | 0.025 | Life, Creation, Guardian |
| Kanturu I | 80–129 | 0.03 | Creation, Guardian |
| Swamp of Calmness | 95–137 | 0.03 | Creation, Guardian, Harmony |
| LaCleon | 102–148 | 0.03 | Guardian, Harmony |
*(12,15) is the group 12 / Number 15 pair that drops in place of Chaos — see the note above.
How to read it: the drop runs for every monster on the map whose level falls within the listed range. There’s no per-monster drop in these zones — it’s map-wide.
What Excellent items are
Excellent items are upgraded versions of armor sets and weapons, with extra bonuses (the exact bonus effects follow per the server’s current configuration). In MU Fighters they also drop by zone, as complete sets (helm, armor, pants, gloves, boots) plus a few weapons. The more advanced the zone, the better the set and the higher the chance.
Noria has no Excellent group — it’s the only zone without Excellent in the droplist.
Where Excellent items drop (by zone)
| Zone | Monster level range | Chance | Excellent sets | Excellent weapons |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lorencia | 2–40 | 0.003 | Scale | Sword 7 |
| Dungeon | 19–80 | 0.004 | Brass, Plate | Sword 8, Mace 3 |
| Devias | 20–90 | 0.005 | Plate, Dragon | Sword 11, Staff 4 |
| Lost Tower | 47–90 | 0.006 | Legendary, Sacred | Sword 15, Staff 5 |
| Atlans | 43–74 | 0.006 | Dragon, Sacred | Spear 9, Bow 5 |
| Tarkan | 72–93 | 0.008 | Ashcrow, Eclipse, Storm Crow | Sword 16, Mace 7 |
| Icarus | 75–108 | 0.01 | Black Dragon, Grand Soul, Divine | Bow 17, Staff 8 |
| Aida | 72–120 | 0.01 | Divine, Dark Phoenix, Thunder Hawk | Sword 17, Staff 9 |
| Kanturu I | 80–129 | 0.012 | Dark Phoenix, Dark Soul, Great Dragon | Sword 18, Mace 17 |
| Swamp of Calmness | 95–137 | 0.015 | Great Dragon, Hurricane | Sword 24, Staff 30 |
| LaCleon | 102–148 | 0.02 | Dragon Knight, Volcano, Sunlight | Sword 22, Staff 33 |
Each set drops as armor pieces (helm/armor/pants/gloves/boots). The exact names of the Excellent weapons (which sword “Sword 7” is, etc.) follow per the server’s current configuration.
What about Ancient items?
Ancient items (old sets with set bonuses) are not in the current zone droplist. In the applied configuration, zones only populate Jewels and Excellent — Ancient was left out of this stage. For now, obtaining Ancient items follows per the server’s current configuration.
Jewels and boxes from bosses
Season 6 bosses drop reward boxes (the box is always the Box of Luck item, group 14 / Number 11; the content varies by the box “level”). There are three tiers:
| Tier | Box level | Chance | Content (general rule) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mid | 0 | 0.2 (20%) | Random item / zen |
| High | 8 | 0.25 (25%) | Excellent |
| End | 10 | 0.5 (50%) | Excellent |
(Content rule by box level: levels 8–12 give Excellent; 0–3 and 13 give a random item/zen — per the plan’s configuration. The exact content of each box follows per the server’s current configuration.)
Bosses by tier:
| Tier | Bosses |
|---|---|
| Mid (box level 0, 20%) | Balrog, Lizard King, Zaikan, Illusion of Kundun 1, 2 and 3 |
| High (box level 8, 25%) | Dark Phoenix, Witch Queen, Hell Maine, Illusion of Kundun 4 and 5 |
| End (box level 10, 50%) | Bloody Witch Queen, Erohim, Illusion of Kundun 6 and 7, Selupan, Devil Lord, Soram, Balram |
There is no “required level” to open the Box of Luck in our configuration.
Jewels in scheduled invasions
The server has two scheduled invasions that bring extra monsters (and with them, more chances at zone and box jewel/excellent drops):
| Invasion | Monsters | Duration | Recurrence |
|---|---|---|---|
| Golden Invasion | 9 golden mobs | 30 min | every 4h |
| Red Dragon Invasion | monster 44 | 30 min | every 6h |
The exact maps and UTC times for each invasion follow per the server’s current configuration.
Jewels and boxes as event rewards
On top of zone drops, you earn jewels and Box of Luck by completing the mini-games — Blood Castle, Chaos Castle and Devil Square. The item reward goes straight to your inventory and every participant gets it (you don’t have to be the winner). It scales by the event’s level tier:
| Tier | Event levels | Jewels | Box of Luck |
|---|---|---|---|
| Low | 1–3 | Bless, Soul | — (no box) |
| Mid | 4–6 | Soul, Chaos, Life | +0 (basic) |
| High | 7 (or 7–8 in Blood Castle) | Creation, Guardian, Harmony | +8 (excellent) |
Important detail: these event rewards are added to the XP and Zen the events already gave — nothing was removed.
Buying jewels in the Event Points shop
You accumulate Event Points by killing monsters (you gain max(1, level/10) per kill) and spend them with the /loja command in-game. Type /loja to see your balance and the catalog, and /loja N to buy item number N. This is also where the Jewel of Chaos is reliably available.
| # | Item | Price (Event Points) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Jewel of Bless | 50 |
| 2 | Jewel of Soul | 60 |
| 3 | Jewel of Chaos | 90 |
| 4 | Jewel of Life | 150 |
| 5 | Jewel of Creation | 150 |
| 6 | Jewel of Guardian | 200 |
| 7 | Box of Luck | 120 |
| 8 | Box of Kundun (excellent) | 600 |
| 9 | Wings of Elf | 1000 |
Quick recap
- Jewels drop by zone (chance 0.02–0.03), from the basics (Bless/Soul) in early maps to the rares (Guardian/Harmony) in the endgame.
- Excellent items drop by zone as full sets, from Scale (Lorencia, 0.003) to Dragon Knight/Volcano/Sunlight (LaCleon, 0.02). Noria has no excellent.
- Ancient is not in the zone droplist yet — it follows the server’s current configuration.
- Bosses drop the Box of Luck (20%/25%/50% by tier); level 8 and 10 boxes deliver excellent items.
- Events (Blood Castle, Chaos Castle, Devil Square) give jewels and Box of Luck to everyone who participates.
/loja(Event Points) sells jewels, Box of Luck, Box of Kundun and wings — and it’s the reliable source of the Jewel of Chaos.
